Eye Care Services

Each child referred to Sight Savers is assigned to a Case Specialist for one-on-one personal care. This dedicated crew contacts parents for needs assessment and program qualification, schedules appointments, makes reminder calls, arranges transportation if necessary, makes arrangements for glasses and other treatments or surgeries if prescribed, and final follow-up care to ensure that each child receives the eye care they deserve.

At each step during the process, Case Specialists document all actions and results in our CRM database that allows measureable and traceable outcomes in real time. Sight Savers keeps a complete record of every time that assistance is provided. Many patients will have numerous records in our database due to having multiple services provided.

Under state funding from Alabama and Mississippi, Sight Savers provides follow-up eye care services to school children who fail vision-screenings. Alabama’s Childhood Vision Health Program encompasses vision-screening and follow-up services for all kindergarten, second grade and fourth grade students. In Mississippi, it includes all kindergarten children. Our signature program makes Sight Savers America the national model for childhood vision health.
