Chief Program Officer

As Sight Savers America’s (SSA) Chief Program Officer, Jennifer currently oversees the Eye Care, Low Vision and Screening Programs. Prior to her current role at SSA, Jennifer created, designed, and expanded the SSA Vision Screening Program into five states while also assisting with the redesign of the State of Alabama’s KidCheck health screening program after its transition to SSA. The SSA Screening Program has grown to provide 40,000 children with vision and health screenings annually across five states.
Before joining Sight Savers America in 2011, Jennifer worked in clinical settings and public education, as well as at nonprofits serving children with autism and adults with serious mental illness. She has fifteen years of service in programmatic, grant writing and management roles at nonprofit organizations.
Jennifer graduated from Mississippi State University and holds a BS in Psychology, a minor in Business Administration and a Master’s ABT in Clinical Psychology. Jennifer is an alumni member of Alpha Chi and Psi Chi honor societies. She has provided over fifteen months of technical expertise to Brookwood Eye Research Laboratories and has also presented research at the Southeastern Psychological Conference, the Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy Conference, and the Biennial Convention of the Honor Society of Nursing.
